Billing Policy
General Information
We accept all patients regardless of insurance status.
We have two fee schedules - Medicare and Non-Medicare.
Due to our having no contracts with insurance companies we are viewed by insurance companies as "non-par providers". See below for details.
Medicare Patients
The physicians of IMSWF are Medicare providers. Our fee schedule for Medicare patients is set at the Medicare allowable rate for services provided. Patients are responsible for their annual deductible payments and any additional fees that are not Medicare allowable. We do file claims electronically. Advantage 65 Plans are not traditional Medicare insurance products; rather, they are PPO insurance plans. See non-Medicare section regarding PPO insurance contracts.
Non-Medicare Patients
Our physicians do not have any insurance contracts. We accept all patients regardless of insurance status. We are not preferred providers for PPO, HMO, or other network/contracted plans. We expect full payment at time of service. We accept cash, check, Visa/Mastercard and Discover Credit Cards. Utilizing our full electronic medical record system (EMR), upon payment, we electronically file the patient's claim and list the patient as the beneficiary. Under this arrangement any money paid by the insurance company for services provided will go to the beneficiary i.e. you, the patient. What the patient can expect to receive is determined by the insurance contract. It is the patient's responsibility to understand their insurance contract.
